Panorama Series Electric Fireplaces: Choose Depth Before Width

Panorama Series electric fireplaces provide a built-in flame display with optional supplemental heat. The collection includes different cabinet depths and viewing proportions, making the available wall cavity a key selection factor.

A slim fireplace and a deeper firebox can create different visual effects even at similar widths. Choose from the exact BI model dimensions rather than treating every Panorama listing as the same appliance in a different length.

Compare the enclosure and the view

Use wall depth and desired visual presentation together to narrow the range. A more dramatic firebox may require substantially more construction space.

XTRASLIM

A shallow format can help where wall projection is limited. Confirm exact depth and finishing requirements; a thin cabinet still needs its specified enclosure and clearances.

SLIM or DEEP

A deeper option can provide a different media-bed presentation. Compare the firebox in person with the additional wall depth it requires.

DEEP-XT

A taller viewing format changes the wall composition. Check the actual glass and framing height against the television, mantel and seated sightline.

Keep heating output separate from visual size

A wide electric flame does not automatically supply more heat. Review the selected model's electrical input, heater output and controls before relying on it to improve comfort in a Toronto basement or living room.

For replacement, confirm the generation as well as the size. Newer smart or outdoor-designated variants can have different controls and installation conditions from older BI listings; do not transfer those features across the family.

Confirm indoor or approved outdoor installation

Only use a fireplace outdoors when the exact model and manual permit the planned setting. Outdoor approval is not permission for unrestricted weather exposure, and required shelter and electrical provisions must be reviewed.

The installed price should include wiring, framing, finishes and service access. Verify the specified air paths before closing the wall, and check an existing cavity against the replacement manual. A small difference in depth or opening height can require substantial enclosure changes.

Select using the complete BI model number

Bring a dimensioned drawing of the wall and cavity. These checks help avoid purchasing a suitable-looking fireplace that requires an unexpected rebuild.

Panorama selection checklist

  • Record the complete BI model and generation.
  • Measure cavity width, height and available depth.
  • Compare glass dimensions and media-bed appearance.
  • Verify electrical requirements and heater output.
  • Confirm any outdoor approval and shelter conditions.
  • Include finishing, air paths and service access.

Choose the Panorama format that fits both the wall and the intended view. Confirm model availability and the installation scope before committing to custom finishes.
