LEX Series Grills: Match the Burner Layout to Your Cooking
LEX Series grills are outdoor gas barbecues offered in different cooking sizes and burner configurations. Choosing between them means comparing usable cooking space, searing options and rotisserie capability alongside the available patio footprint.
The 485, 605 and 730 listings are not interchangeable specifications. Check the complete model suffix and fuel version, particularly when comparing a basic 485 with a model equipped with infrared side and rear burners.
Which cooking functions will you use?
Extra burners are useful when they support your usual meals. Compare the cooking task with the space and equipment each configuration requires.
Everyday grilling
Choose sufficient main-grid space for a normal meal with room to move food between zones. A larger grill takes more patio space and is unnecessary if most of the surface stays unused.
High-heat searing
An infrared side or bottom burner provides a separate high-heat cooking option where fitted. Its position matters: a searing station and a conventional range side burner serve different jobs.
Rotisserie cooking
A rear infrared burner is relevant for spit roasting. Check whether the compatible rotisserie kit is included and whether there is clearance to insert and remove the spit.
Fuel choice and Toronto installation
Select the correct natural gas or propane model from the start. A nearby gas connection does not establish that the line can supply the appliance at the required pressure and capacity; have the connection assessed before installation.
Confirm outdoor placement, clearances and building or condominium restrictions. The grill must remain in an approved open-air location, and winter convenience should not lead to operating it in a garage or other enclosure.
Replacement fit and ownership costs
For a replacement, measure with side shelves and the lid open, and check the route from delivery point to patio. Similar model names can conceal different cabinet dimensions, hose arrangements and accessory fit.
Ask for a quote that identifies the exact grill, fuel setup, assembly and any connection work. For older LEX listings, confirm current supply and compatible service parts rather than assuming that features or warranties from newer series apply.
Compare complete model numbers
These checks make a useful shortlist more precise. They also separate equipment features from costs that belong to the installation.
LEX grill buying checklist
- Match cooking area to routine meals and occasional guests.
- Identify the location and type of every extra burner.
- Verify the fuel version and approved connection.
- Measure shelf width, lid swing and delivery access.
- Confirm rotisserie and cover compatibility.
- Request model-specific availability and installation scope.
Choose the LEX configuration around how you cook, then confirm the patio and fuel connection can accommodate it. The biggest model is only worthwhile when its extra space and cooking functions will be used.
