RUR Models for Recirculating Tankless Water Heating

RUR models are condensing tankless water heaters associated with integrated hot-water recirculation capability. They are considered when both on-demand heating capacity and delivery time to distant fixtures matter, provided the home's plumbing supports the approved arrangement.

Choose the circulation route before the control

Faster delivery depends on the complete plumbing loop, not the pump alone. Compare these options with the existing house layout.

Dedicated return

A separate return line can provide a defined circulation path. Confirm piping, valves and settings against the exact model's instructions.

Approved crossover

Some configurations permit an approved crossover arrangement where no dedicated return exists. Review its effect on the cold-water line and fixture use before choosing it.

Demand or schedule

Appropriate control limits unnecessary circulation. Continuous operation can increase distribution heat loss, so choose a strategy that matches occupancy and plumbing.

Keep RUR and RSC model details separate

This category includes RUR98 variants and an RSC199i listing. Both require their own documentation; a mixed category does not establish identical pump controls, venting or connection arrangements.

Compare usable winter hot-water output separately from recirculation. A pump can reduce waiting under suitable conditions but does not increase the heater's ability to serve several high-flow fixtures at once.
