Fires of Tradition Perth Cast Iron Mantels Fireplace

Cast Iron has a distinctive quality and strength of character all on its own. Iron mantels were fairly common in the late 1800’s. We have faithfully reproduced one of these, which allows its unique beauty and craftsmanship of the past to live again.
Many of the mantel designs incorporate authentic details and elements that were found in original antiques. We came across our Perth mantel in a salvage yard south of London England. Cast mantels were quite common at the turn of the century, and the material itself has a quality and strength of character all its own. This mantel is the perfect accompaniment to the Windsor front.

All our mantels are designed with some depth to them, which gives any mantel more pleasing lines. However, this requires that the firebox be installed ahead of the drywall, whether they are used with a rebate or a cabinet mantel.

Similar with the hearth- the firebox must be installed at a certain height off the finished floor, in order to allow the hearth to be properly located. Please consult the installation manual for these specifics.

Rebate mantels require that a ‘chase’ be constructed of 2×4’s and drywall to accommodate the depth of the firebox. A cabinet mantel is deep enough to accommodate the firebox, eliminating the need of a chase.

All our mantels are designed with some depth to them, which gives any mantel more pleasing lines. However, this requires that the firebox that they are being installed with be located ahead of the drywall, whether they are used with a rebate or a cabinet mantel. Please consult the installation manual for the specifics of how far forward of the drywall the firebox must be installed.

A similar approach is required when using a hearth. The firebox must be installed at a certain height off the finished floor, in order to allow the hearth to be properly located. Again, please consult the installation manual for these specifics.

I had my tankless water heater replaced through Cozy Comfort Plus. Brian was very helpful and his technician did his best to ensure the new model would fit the tight nook that the original one was in. The team installed the new heater quickly and ensured the location was clean afterwards. Overall, I was very satisfied with the installation and service.

Cozy Comfort came highly recommended by my parents after they did some work for them. We had a new furnace, water heater, humidifier, and thermostat installed and they did a great job from the initial visit to the final install.

I've been a client of Cozy Comfort for 15 yrs. for any HVAC need or service.

My AC broke down in the heat wave and could not be repaired. I called and talked to Brian @ Cozy Comfort.
Explained I was looking for a specific Carrier model and a humidifier as well.
He managed to find it and had both installed by tech. Alex and his crew within a few days. They did a good job and took all garbage with them.

While being installed, other companies I had called for a quote were calling me to inquire what I was looking for. Told them too late!

During this unexpected breakdown in prime summer heat, Brian was patient, quick and fair getting the job done quickly.

These days it is difficult to give a positive review but I highly recommend dealing with Brian at Cozy Comfort for any service they offer.
